Trinseo&#8217;s elastomer program is characterized by high flexibility, where each segment has its own respective strengths. The elastomers often have rubber-like properties, but in addition each have a number of other strong key properties.<\/h3>\n<h3>Among the most prevalent properties are compression ability, oil resistance, transparency, abrasion resistance, heat resistance, soft touch, which are used in building materials, automotive applications, sporting goods, electrical components and household items etc.<\/h3>\n<h3>Plastcom categorizes the elastomers as follows:<\/h3>\n<h3>TPO &#8211; Olefine-based TPE<\/h3>\n<p>TPO is based on polyolefin compounds modified with elastomers. They are remarkably versatile in terms of hardness area and manufacturing techniques. The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is very versatile with excellent mechanical properties, high elasticity and superior resistance to low temperatures. They are very durable and suitable for applications where a high resistance to wear (abrasion), oils and fat is necessary and can be adapted to specific application requirements. <\/p>\n<p>TPU&#8217;s versatility makes it ideal for multiple applications. In athletic footwear, TPU is used to make high-quality shoe soles, ski boots, skates and football shoes. Technical applications include gaskets, wear-resistant pipes and cables, transmission belts and aiming for abrasive products. In automotive and technical applications, TPU designers give more freedom to create aesthetically pleasing, durable parts such as trim pieces, tactile surfaces, seals or door handles. <\/p>\n<p>The use of TPU via a injection moulding process is typically challenging as it places demands on the forming tools used. Units of TPU are typically difficult to deform in conventional tools, so please ask for recommendations when commissioning or designing new tools using TPU.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/plastcom.dk\/en\/elastomers\/\" role=\"button\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tView technical data<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Selected TPU properties:<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022 Hardness from 40 ShD to 72 ShD at the rigid types<br \/>\u2022 Hardness from 40 ShA to 90 ShA at the soft types<br \/>\u2022 High abrasion resistance<br \/>\u2022 Good chemical resistance to acid and bases<br \/>\u2022 Good adhesion to other polymers by co-injection or co-extrusion<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special compounds:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compounds with high flexibility, even at low medium-low hardness scale temperatures and ease of machinability.\n<\/li>\n<li>Compounds where properties can be designed to meet the customer&#8217;s need for increased resistance to hydrolysis, microbes and aging.\n<\/li>\n<li>Special haptic compound with a rubbery and matte surface effect on products where a surface with a good grip combined with the high mechanical performance is desired.\n<\/li>\n<li>Bio-based compounds, both ether- and ester-based, with the same mechanical properties and durability as traditional qualities and a high content of renewable resources (up to 70%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read more &gt;<\/p>\n<h3>TPV &#8211; Vulcanized TPE<\/h3>\n<p>TPV consists of TPE with dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomers, where the elastomer consists of cross-bound EPDM rubber scattered in a polyolefin thermoplastic matrix. Compared to previous versions of TPV, today the material has improved tensile strength, increased stretching and tear resistance and is available in a wider range of hardnesses. <\/p>\n<p>TPV is suitable for pawning with other materials by both co-injection and co-extrusion with polyole veneer as well as similar materials groups.
